Same postcard stamped and postmarked on August 14, 1991 in Kochetovo, Tuva on the 70th anniversary of Tuvan independence in the town where it was proclaimed. Front image of the postcard is the Feynman Fantasy Stamp by Michael Munday. The tiny town of Kochetovo (formerly Sug-Bazhy) did not have enough ones and zeros to make the date of 14 08 91. Therefore, blanks were inserted before the eight and after the nine -- the first to indicate a zero and the second to indicate a one. The rest of the cancel reads: SSSR Kochetovo Tuv. ASSR. |

Coaster
with a cool stamp design -- Michael Munday's memorial stamp cancelled and
registered with classic Tuvan cancels. 3.5" square (with rounded corners)
and made of an absorbent fabric on a 1/8" thick dense foam base. I
live in Virginia, where the humidity is very high, and this coaster
absorbs all the condensation my glass can muster and keeps my desk nice
and dry. A very cool conversation piece! See the other coaster designs in our Miscellaneous Stuff section. |
