The Alexander Arrangement of the Elements is an improved periodic table which eliminates the confusion and inconsistencies of the flat table by arranging the elements in order, with successive elements touching, while keeping the accepted groups and families. The 3-D form has three parts looping outwards from a middle area. The elements in Groups 0, Ia, IIa, IIIb, IVb, Vb, and VIIIb are in the narrowest and tallest part, which forms a tube, topped by a crown of Hydrogen. From the lower part of this branches a longer loop showing groups IIIa, IVa, Va, VIa, VIIa, VIII, Ib, and IIb. From the lower half of this, a third, the longest loop is the f-block, displaying the Rare Earths. The successive element connections are achieved by the patented downward helix in the first of the three components. Also notable is the superior position given to Hydrogen, implying its multiple relationships and upgraded importance. The most useful feature for teaching new students - aside from the motivation gained by the unique & attractive shape - is the unprecedented logic of integration of the Rare Earth and Transition elements, usually found in a remote location on standard charts. |

The construction of the three-dimensional chart has been made relatively easy by professional design of the slots and tabs, by die cutting all that needs cutting, and providing instructions that are carefully tested and illustrated.
Assembled DeskTopper
The DeskTopper is a new, color, complete Alexander Arrangement, assembled in minutes, a new and correct way of seeing and communicating the realities of the Periodic Table. It is is printed in full color on heavy card stock. Element data is contained in boxes that are over three quarters of an inch by a half an inch on colors based on those of the standard Sargent-Welch periodic table. The three segments are die cut for easy removal from the background, and slots are pre-cut for color coded tabs.
Very complete instructions are provided (in the event assembly is not as intuitive as we intended). The DeskTopper is four and three quarters inches at its highest point.
